Everyone I know is busy. But everyone I know wants to slow down. To enjoy some of the simpler things in life. To spend more time with friends and family, to notice the sky at least every once in a while, and to embrace stillness for a few moments a day.
One of the best ways I know how to do that is around the dinner table. My grandmother showed her love for us by cooking special meals. My parents and I learned what we thought about things over my mom's latest culinary adventure. Now that I'm all grown up, I find that I share a little bit of myself with every meal I make.
I don't have much time to create exotic feasts, but I still think making dinner can be an act of love. Whether you cook for dozens or just for yourself, take a few minutes to savor it. - Colleen
